Growing up in Knoxville, Tennessee, Emi K. would rearrange her parents’ house at least once a week as a child. She always knew that she wanted a career that would showcase her innate creativity; interior design was a perfect fit.
Emi graduated from Auburn University’s CIDA Accredited Interior Design program with extensive training in rendering, color theory and visual presentation. After graduation, Emi achieved certification as a LEED Green Associate, an exclusive certification given by the U.S. Green Building Council to those who have furthered their education to include green building principles and practices.
After graduation, Emi took a job at a residential design firm in Montgomery, Alabama and spent her time after hours designing a family restaurant and her parents' new house in Auburn. Over two years later, Emi decided it was time to make a move to Atlanta and pursue a new career opportunity at The Design Atelier.
Emi is currently an interior designer at Mrs. Howard Atlanta.
Emi's taste can be described as traditional and timeless with functioning practicality. Her best quick design tip? Organize and de-clutter, or add her favorite accessory—a patterned pillow with a pop of color. If she’s not in the studio perfecting a design project, she and her husband, Matt, are probably down the road in Auburn cheering on their beloved Tigers or spending time in the sun on the Florida coast!
